Class Description

My goal is to cultivate the creative arts in your children by expanding their imagination and artistic abilities. I emphasize the technical aspects of drawing, pastels, and painting. Additionally, I teach conceptual theories that are crucial to increasing your child’s artist abilities including composition, balance, focal point, symmetry, and color theory. Art history is also introduced through power point presentations and integrated through projects. Each student will be taught and challenged individually to extend them beyond their limits. I encourage a fun yet professional atmosphere allowing the students to experience a higher quality of learning in art.

The first semester I plan to focus on the Elements of Art, including a few artists here and there. The second semester will be a focus on artists and their styles. Each class begins with a PowerPoint introducing, either the featured artist, or an Element/Principle of Art for that week.
