ASL: Exploring Music & Poetry with American Sign Language
ASL is a beautiful, expressive, physical language used by millions of Americans every day to communicate with family, friends, schoolmates, and co-workers. Music and poetry take on an added layer of meaning when accompanied by the art of creative American Sign Language.

This fun approach to learning American Sign Language will focus on learning to sign popular songs, starting with simple songs from childhood and progressing to songs right off the pop charts and from movie soundtracks. In addition, we will discuss elements of poetry and how they can be enhanced using ASL.
We will meet Thursday mornings from 11:00 am - 11:55 am. Using music and poetry as the guide, students will learn several ASL skills including vocabular, grammar, non-manual markers, and Deaf Culture history.
Students will generate work samples that can be added to a portfolio or submitted to a charter school teacher.
Classes are live, online, and interactive.
