Do your kids love reading or having you read to them? In this class, I’ll start by reading a book. Next we’ll take it a step further by tying in the book that we just read to a hands on art lesson that covers color, line, and shape. This is also a great class to work on fine motor skills like cutting with scissors.

Class Description

The focus of this class is to bring together both literature and art. Each week we'll read and talk about a new book. After reading the book we'll draw. I use a wonderful art resource called deepspacesparkle.com. All of their lessons adhere to state standards. If you have an emerging writer at home there is also a I Like My Art Because… page. This can compliment their artwork and help develop their writing skills. When I’m not using a lesson from Deep Space Sparkle, I like to have the class draw their favorite part or favorite character. They might even make up and draw their own ending! Class size: 4-10 students

Supplies: Instructor will provide materials to print or view as a PDF Once you register for the class. I will email you a list of supplies. Supplies are an additional one time purchase of $30.00. The supplies are for your student to keep. Because we are teaching online. I am happy to order supplies before classes start. I can arrange for a safe pickup or delivery (If you are in a 15-20 mile radius).
