Class description:
The fun chess class is highly suitable for those who are looking to take their game to the next level! We will examine strategy and tactics in the opening, middle game, and endgame in greater depth.
Chess will be taught in a way that will help develop students’ cognitive and reflective reasoning skills, math skills, and enhance their overall academic performance.

David is the director of The Scholastic Chess Academy, and has been teaching chess to both children and adults for over 15 years. He is a United States Chess Federation Certified Chess Coach, and a tournament director for the USCF. David’s students have competed successfully in national and international events. Many of his students are nationally ranked, as high as top 15, in the United States for their age group. In addition, David has expertise in building chess teams and in his free time, works with at-risk youths. He has established chess programs at a variety of youth centers.
