Class Description

We will go over each of the 30 human rights articles listed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The basic purpose being that each learner ends the series with a certainty of the 30 human rights that each have not only to protect themselves, but to protect their fellow humans from abuses.

When kids have the knowledge of the rights they have, ALL of the rights that they have, they start to understand that other people around them have these rights too. They start to treat each other differently and they start to see themselves differently.

There are many programs out there in our communities and I am sure you are all familiar with few of them. If everyone understood human rights, we would make a different world.

Classes will generally break down as follows:
Lesson 1) Introduction and history of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as well as Human Right Article #1 and #2
Lesson 2) We will cover Human Rights #3 through #11
Lesson 3) We will cover Human Rights #12 through #23
Lesson 4) We will cover Human Rights #24 through #30

I will be using PowerPoints, short videos and examples for each of the 30 articles.

There will be optional homework that the learners can do between classes on others to get a better understanding of some of the points we discuss.

I hold certificates in teaching the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (as well as a certificate to teach others on how to educate on this subject). I have been lecturing and teaching about this important document since 2014. In 2018 I was awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service Award in Washington D.C. for my work in spreading awareness on human rights.
