Do you have a creative and aspiring artist at home? Or maybe you are looking for a fun elective for your student? Look no further! In this class, we’ll look at and discuss famous works of art and artists. Art is more than just making art. Learn about good composition, positive and negative space, and the seven elements of art. Learn how to draw what you see. Experiment and have fun with a variety of mediums from charcoal to paint. Come join in on the fun! Get creative, curious, and be inspired!

I provide art lessons to K-12 students and am able to work with kids on the spectrum in either small groups or private lessons. I have a BFA in Fine Arts and taught preschool for 10 years. For younger children, I like to offer choices, encourage the process, and even introduce famous artists. For the older students, I teach drawing and painting techniques. We also discuss the 7 elements of art, composition, negative and positive space, and basic color theory. In addition, I like to incorporate learning how to observe artworks and discuss the artists. I engage students by asking what they would like to gain more confidence in - whether it is a specific medium or a certain technique. This way, it is a much more meaningful experience.
