Class Description

Why is this class called "Ode to Inklings, you might ask. The Inklings were a gathering of writer friends at Oxford, England and included C.S. Lewis, author of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, and J.R.R. Tolkein, author of The Hobbit. These friends met regularly to discuss philosophy and literature and to read aloud from their own works to receive critique and commentary. In this spirit, we convene each week to discuss the assigned readings and to share thoughts, insights, and observations.

What level of homework should we expect, Each week, one to two chapters are assigned along with vocabulary review, short answer, and essay questions designed to help readers analyze and better understand these classics.
