Scientific Exploration
Scientific exploration is as natural to kids as playing and in this class we will explore the amazing variety included in the sciences. This class is perfect for the elementary student who is interested in exploring science at a more in-depth level than that offered in a typical science curriculum.

Kids are naturally curious and in this class we will study science in terms of biology, chemistry, and physics. Does your child want to go into greater detail and have an advanced knowledge of science? Then they will love this class!
We will study topics including the diversity in the largest ecosystems, the complexity of the smallest cells, the mechanisms involved in movement, and intricate chemical reactions. I will also delve into topics that interest your kids so an informal survey will be taken at the start of class to pinpoint their individual interests and include them.
We will learn through discussion, slide shows, and videos with some at-home activities to make learning fun.

About Heather Vargas
Heather Vargas has 25 years experience in teaching, 19 of those homeschooling her 5 children. Two are in college now - the first is pursuing a degree in Global Studies/Peace and Conflict at UC Berkeley and the second is studying Political Science and Psychology at San Diego State, while the youngest ones are still homeschooled. Having attended UCLA for undergraduate and graduate school and earning a degree in molecular and cellular biology, science and math are a specialty. After many years of creating and teaching her own homeschool curriculum, she is able to supply and teach curriculum in all subjects.
