Class Description

The First Nations of this land and throughout the World, have lots of wisdom to share. We will read the Lakota, Aztec, Dakota, Inuk, Maya, Inca, Yoruba, Pueblo, and many more. In this class, we will hear their past generations' echo while playing and making some art together. After each Story, little hands will rip and cut construction paper, and together we will create collages of their impressions of these Nations. Storytelling allows children to experience other cultures, sparks their imaginations improves listening skills, and helps them communicate better. Come and join our story circle!

About the Instructor

Martha Zittel

I enjoy helping children unfold their own potential at their own pace. I respect and cherish the whole child, and my classes are based on their abilities, allowing me to recognize their individual process. My classes, one-on-one or in a group, not only teach the mastery of a subject, but we do it in exciting ways while creating space for kids to be kids and thrive.

My 9 year old son looks forward to his time with Ms. Martha every week. He enjoys the discussions and has learned a lot from this class. Ms. Martha is very kind and encourages all students to participate at their own comfort level.
