This literature course is designed to guide middle school students to develop reading comprehension skills.
We will read passages from books and learn how to identify concepts, main ideas, and special points of the stories.
Books And Art
Do your kids love reading or having you read to them? In this class, I’ll start by reading a book. Next we’ll take it a step further by tying in the book that we just read to a hands on art lesson that covers color, line, and shape. This is also a great class to work on fine motor skills like cutting with scissors.
High School Classic Book Club
Semester long class to get through several of the well known high school classic novels, group discussion as we read (learner will get to participate in the initial class survey to pick which books we read).
College Prep English for Homeschoolers - open enrollment throughout the year
This course covers advanced English communications for students of any age who can handle college preparatory material and is designed to prepare students for university studies and for SAT, ACT and TOEFL exams. This is an interest driven class with emphasis is upon innate language acquisition through immersion and emulation as well as an understanding of grammatical principles.
This is a 9th grade English course. We'll read a variety of texts and focus on improving our writing. We will meet as a class with an optional tutoring day on Tuesday.
