Graphic Novels are one of my favorite mediums! The art, the color, and the dynamic movement make them a great way to engage students in reading. This time, we will be studying different stories to bring awareness in inclusion, diversity, and respect to all cultures. When we awake to help one another and treat each other as equals, the entire Human race advances to offer a better World to all of us, in this country and all other countries on Earth.
My goal is to talk about Tolerance, respecting everyone's ideas and beliefs, and making a safe space to explore racial, cultural, and social topics.
This class is on round-year.
There are about six or seven novels per semester, and I will send the list of books to be purchased.

I enjoy helping children unfold their own potential at their own pace. I respect and cherish the whole child, and my classes are based on their abilities, allowing me to recognize their individual process. My classes, one-on-one or in a group, not only teach the mastery of a subject, but we do it in exciting ways while creating space for kids to be kids and thrive.

I am so grateful that Ms Martha has gotten my 11 year old son reading so many wonderful graphic novels. She has made reading engaging and exposed him to a large selection of stories that he may not have chosen on his own. I know he has learned a lot from this class. Ms Martha is patient and encouraging to all students.
