Psychology Semester 1 (A-G*)

This Psychology class is the FIRST semester of a year-long course that is equivalent to a one semester introductory college course in psychology. This course is designed to meet the “G” requirement in the A-G course requirements. Please check with your charter school or other to ensure that they will accept this.

Psychology is a comprehensive study of the human mind and cognitive processes. Students will examine the structures of the brain and their involvement in human action and social interaction. The class will provide a rigorous examination of cognitive development, perception, comprehension, consciousness, and learning. The course will also involve an analysis of human emotion, psychological disorders and their treatments. This class offers an enlightening journey through the depths of the human mind.

Chemistry is the study of the structure and composition of matter that make up living things and their environment. We will also study the changes of matter and the mechanisms by which changes occur. This class will cover: atomic and molecular structure, chemical bonds, conservation of matter and stoichiometry, gases and their properties, acids and bases, solutions, chemical thermodynamics, reaction rates, chemical equilibrium, organic chemistry and biochemistry, and nuclear processes.

Virtual labs and/or at-home labs are conducted for most chapters. Lab reports must be submitted, which will consist of organizing data and answering questions for the experiment.

This is a year-long course and is designed to meet the ‘D’ requirement in the ‘A-G’ requirements. Please check with your charter school or other to ensure that they will accept this.
