Coach Profile

Growing up in a baseball family with extensive ties to Major League Baseball, Coach JP Paciorek was fortunate to have the opportunity to watch and learn from some of the best in the game. His father, Coach John Paciorek, a former big leaguer who’s perfect 1.000 MLB career batting average was the inspiration for a book and numerous television, newspaper and magazine features, retired after nearly 50 years of creative, engaging and highly-effective youth instruction, and a hand in the development of many future college and professional athletes. Uncles Tom and Jim Paciorek enjoyed productive careers in both the MLB and Japan, playing for teams including the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, Seattle Mariners, Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Texas Rangers and Yokohama Taiyo Whales. Boasting 9 family members that have played US professional baseball, the Pacioreks are one of only two families to achieve that historical feat.

After a successful high school career in which he was named 1st Team All-CIF Baseball after his junior and senior seasons, along with 1st Team All League in Basketball, JP continued his baseball career at the University of Southern California playing for legendary coaches Rod Dedeaux and Mike Gillespie. While pursuing his Business Degree at USC, JP started his college baseball career as a corner outfielder and ultimately moved to pitcher during his junior season, before recurring elbow and shoulder issues ended his playing career. According to Coach Gillespie, JP stood out as the only switch-hitting, switch-throwing baseball player during his leadership of the USC program.

After graduating from USC, JP was employed in the front offices of both the Los Angeles Clippers (Public Relations) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (Marketing and Game Day Promotions) before embarking on an entrepreneur’s journey in founding and operating Advantage Distribution, a regional wholesale supplies company and BAT 1000, which operated the B1 Sports Performance Lab, the B1 Summer Academies, the B1 Bombers Summer Collegiate Team and private and small-group instruction designed to provide top-quality, age-appropriate instruction and competitive game play.

In addition to expert baseball instruction (hitting, throwing, fielding and pitching), Coach JP offers cutting-edge Driveline-inspired youth pitching and Arm Care instruction and is a certified M.O.R.R. Sports Performance Instructor. The M.O.R.R. system, developed by Chip Smith, the “Godfather of Sports Performance Training” emphasizes Movement through Overspeed, Resistance and Reaction, and has been highly effective in training thousands of elite collegiate and professional athletes. JP enjoys travelling internationally offering youth sports performance instruction, playing tennis and pickleball and spending time with his sons Jack and Carson.
